I would like to talk to you about introducing Skype into my program. It’s a free application that can be downloaded and used on any device that can access the Internet. Skype is a live video conferencing software. It allows collaboration for groups of people with video and audio. It also allows you to broadcast presentations and filing sharing, along with screen options to share your desktop view.
Skype is very user friendly, and can be used internationally. This would be a great experience for students to communicate with international businesses. It would also be helpful to use when students are out on internships to communicate and share files with them. I truly believe this innovative tool will allow the students a more effective way to communicate in the ever-growing industry that Digital Media is.

If I had $1200 to spend on a new piece of technology I would go to apple and purchase a Mac Air for $1199.00.

I'm a mac lover for sure! I love all the communication! With iCloud it allows me to access my photos, documents, calendar, music, books, etc on any of my devices! The mac air would be the perfect fit. Light weight making it easy to lug around. It has loads of built in apps. iTunes, iMovie, photos, Safari, pages, garage band, FaceTime, Ibooks, and comes with Siri (who always knows the perfect answer to everything) In general Apple products are always worth the money because they seem to withstand the day in and day out abuse. Apple also has amazing customer service!
I'm not going to lie when I first look at the Google doc I might have rolled my eyes and thought really BUT after realizing the true potential of implementing this into my program it could be HUGE! My students could story board together, brainstorm and manage class projects, in and outside of class time easily. The options are endless! I think it was super easy to use and I plan to start using it in my program soon. Moving on to the excel document....not really my cup of tea and I did struggle slightly but managed to get it sorted out...finally :)
That being said I do not see myself becoming an accountant in my future that life isn't for me. I do however have a new earned respect for accountants and anyone who has to use the program daily. I'm glad that I can dabble in excel now just in case something pops up in the future I won't be at a total loss.

I’m not going to lie...seeing a group project for the assignment and knowing I would have to facetime with a complete stranger was a little unnerving which is strange for me because I meet and communicate with new people all the time. Once we found a good time for both of us and I made myself adult and hit that button to facetime Collin and started talking to him all my worries went away. He seems like a great guy! He is very passionate about Baseball and it shows . I’m glad I was pushed out of my comfort zone for this project and it was very nice to learn a little more about Collin. I used Powtoon which I think everyone needs to check out! Super easy to get start with! Oh and it’s free and customizable. Can’t beat that! I think Facetime and Powtoon will both be something I'm going to use more often!

Blogging
Turning 29 forever....Jk
Welp, it finally hit...I turned thirty...yep, yep the dirty thirty finally snuck up on me. When people guess my age they very rarely say thirty so I'm thankful for that but people who know me say I have an old soul and can't believe I'm only just turning thirty.
I have the forgiving heart of a toddler...the mind of a teenage boy, the soul of a eighty year old ( SERIOUSLY, coffee and sunsets do it for me), and the date on my drivers license fits me about as well as the photograph on it (WHYYYYY with the florescent lighting in the DMV!?! That 's a whole other soap box though.)
In between my last birthday and this one, I've done the following adult AF things....
* bought and moved into my lovely new home on five acres
* started drinking wine again which I have missed so much but not on an alcoholic level ;)
* bought my dream truck (named her triple B...gotta love her huge douche bag flashy wheels but whatevs, she's tricked out with everything I have ever wanted)
* stopped wearing cheap gross makeup and started caring more for my skin
* pretty much given up on liking college and accepted I just have to suck it up so I can graduate
* really grown to appreciate and crave "ME" time
* developed an intolerance for negative people
*stopped drinking my coffee so sweet and started enjoying the flavor of the actual coffee
*got a HOT TUB (which is straight heaven..best place to watch the sunset)
*started another business
All just goes to show you, age is just a number. I'm really happy with what I have accomplished in my thirty years on earth, while simultaneously wondering how in the heck I got this far into adulthood. I don't quite fit in with most thirty-somethings, most definitely don't fit in with those twenty-somethings, and for the first time in my entire adult life-- genuinely comfortable with who I am. So there's that ;) --

Reflection: I would love to blog...I feel like some of the things that happen to me in life are pure crazy and so funny. Like some of it is so out there I couldn't even make it up! I share some of the stories with my students and use it as examples of what to or not to do and they always get a kick out of it! I honestly don't know if I am disciplined enough to make myself sit down and blog or if I would make the time in my busy schedule to do so....
Social Media
Q1
Social Media has had a HUGE impact on my life personally and professionally! It is something I use every singe day one some level!
Q2 It allows me to keep in touch with family and friends while also allowing my clients to communicate with me but also allowing them to share the images I do for them with their family and friends which in return helps my business grow.
Q3 I will always have a soft spot for Facebook! It has always been my go to for my clients...now that being said I do love Snapchat for those filters but for my profession I turn to Facebook! It is easy to use! Allows me to tag clients and also go live and interact with them.
Q4 I will continue to use Facebook to post my clients sneak peeks to draw in new clients and share behind the scenes to keep current clients in the loop and excited for their next sessions!
Q5 I'm honestly not sure what changes I would like to see in social media...it's working really well for me at the moment.
