Real talk - NourishmentReal talk - creativity doesn’t bloom unless it’s nurtured. I wish I could say everyday when I roll out of bed and my feet touch the floor, I’m a ray of sunshine flowing with creativity but that ain’t the case.
“Motivation is the fuel, necessary to keep the human engine running.” - Zig Ziglar Listen, no one is perfect! You’re gonna have times when your mood and creativity are in the dumps but that’s ok! You have the power to change your mood and kickstart your creativity. First, look at your surroundings. Are you creating an environment where your creativity can bloom? Are you surrounding yourself with positive people and motivation? Second, are you healthy inside and out? Are you quick with a correction if someone compliments you? Are you staying up late and eating junk all the time. Listen, I’m not a fitness guru or a motivational speaker but we all have to take care of ourselves and sometimes need a splash of cold water to snap us back to reality. 
If you’re not feeling great or feel like your creativity is non-existent, you do have the power to change this. You just have to be willing to put in the work, one small step at a time. I’m sure you’ve heard “don’t make mountains out of molehills” when it comes to how you view the problems in your life. Whether you truly have a mountain or just a molehill, take that first step. Create the best environment for yourself, even if it’s just some flowers to brighten your space. Start talking positively to yourself and watch your thoughts - for both positive and negative thoughts. Don’t allow negativity the resources to grow, instead put effort daily into creating a positive environment and you’ll soon begin to see noticeable changes. When you can start making time to look for beauty and excitement every day, that’s when you’re going to start turning your life around and that’s when your creativity is going to bloom - when it’s carefully and lovingly nourished.

It’s an honor to photograph a couple’s wedding. Knowing they’ll have these images to cherish as they hold on to those memories through the years. Shooting a wedding can be a stressful event, of course but it’s so rewarding all the hard work you put into it will show at the end.
I’ll always talk to my bride and groom before the wedding. I’m very easy to get along with and I am completely upfront about everything because I don’t want any kinks in their day. I want to make sure we’re vibing from the get go that way we’re on the same page. A lot can happen on a wedding day. It’s a very special and emotional day for two families. I’ve had cakes not be able to delivered or a cake get knocked over after it arrives - you never know what could happen. My favorite thing to remind a bride is that it doesn’t matter what’s gonna happen, you’re gonna be married at the end of this and if that’s the only thing you can think of the whole day that’s all that matters. You’re going to get to marry the love of your life.
Once we’ve got the nerves calm I can go to work. I love detail shots! I look forward to ring shots at weddings, I love getting creative using their flowers, cakes, or boots in the shot.

Working on the new layout I’ve been going through so many old photos with clients, it brings back so many wonderful memories! That’s one of the joys I love about this amazing passion I get to call “my job”. Sharing incredible, joyous moments that we can look back on and cherish. Life can fly by in such a blur sometimes it’s good to take a moment to reflect on what we’ve been through. It always brightens my day to hear from one of my friends I’ve photographed reminiscing about the photographs or the shoot we did together. From getting to photograph a family’s first moment with their newborn, an adorable cake smash, an early morning senior picture session, or even a non-stop busy day of shooting a wedding it’s always the same - I know the more I put in I always get back so much more in return. I see the effort rewarded when I see the smiling faces and the thank you cards, likes and shares on social media of ecstatic clients who allowed me to take a part in their special occasion. Coming into this year, I want to keep this same motivation and good vibes moving forward. It always brightens my day to see clients so excited to share their finished sessions. There’s a rush of seeing their friends and family liking and commenting on the photos I shot of them. Being involved in someone’s special day is a great feeling. Part of that joy often starts with a gift. From introducing newborns, to announcing senior pictures, or even celebrating weddings - you can share a part of someone’s special day as well.
